About the Item

A fine English George III style grandmother clock in a hand carved mahogany case by Joseph Spandlow (aka Spondlow) of Brandon, with a split pediment scrollwork crest with rosettes and a central turned finial over decorative fretwork and an arched glass door opening to a brass Roman numeral dial with Jos. Spondlow, Brandon incised above it, adorned with foliate spandrels, over a shaped waist door with figured mahogany, opening to a single weighted pendulum, flanked by reeded corner columns, accented with additional fretwork and supported on a canted bracket base. Dates to the early 20th century with brass works by West German maker Mason & Sullivan Co, and appears to be in good working order, with great overall patina and minimal surface wear commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: Approximately 57.5 in H x 13.25 in W x 8.5 in D. Ref: 8
