About the Item

This elegant French Art Deco enameled glass vase was created by Adrien Mazoyer in Moulins, France, during the 1920s. Decorated with large, vividly colored daisies, the piece beautifully reflects the refined floral language and technical innovation of French decorative glass from the interwar period. The low, wide vase is hand-painted with rich enamel decoration, giving the flowers remarkable depth, texture, and luminosity. The generous proportions of the daisies create a strong visual rhythm across the surface, while the vibrant colors contrast beautifully with the transparency of the glass. The vase is signed “A. Mazoyer *” within the decoration, confirming the artist’s authorship. Measuring 4.7 inches (12 cm) in height and 9.45 inches (24 cm) in diameter, this substantial art glass vase is ideal for display on a console, dining table, sideboard, mantel, or collector’s shelf. Its sculptural form allows it to function equally well as a decorative bowl, centerpiece, or collectible work of French glass art. Adrien Mazoyer (1887–1950) was a French artist known for his porcelain, glass, and enamel creations. After studying at the Beaux-Arts and working in Paris, he developed increasingly sophisticated hot-enamel techniques. His stylized floral and geometric works were exhibited at major international events, including the 1925 Paris International Exhibition of Decorative Arts and the 1937 International Exhibition of Arts and Techniques. This signed 1920s Adrien Mazoyer vase is a desirable acquisition for collectors of French Art Deco glass, enameled decorative arts, floral design, and early 20th-century European craftsmanship. It combines historical significance, artistic quality, and timeless decorative appeal.
