About the Item

Set of six chairs designed by Carlos Picardo for “Darro” (1958-1979), made of iron frame, seat and backrest in red fabric. Manufactured in Spain. The rationalist lines of the frame provide a timeless design, making them a perfect addition to any home seeking a touch of functional elegance. The Spanish design furniture company “Darro” was founded by Paco Muñoz and Fernando Alonso in 1958, creating modern and exclusive furniture inspired by the Spanish vernacular tradition and influenced by the lines of modern international architecture. Carlos Picardo was the first artistic director, responsible for several emblematic designs. Various architects and artists such as José Antonio Coderch, “Equipo 57”, Miguel Fisac or Javier Carvajal, collaborated with “Darro”. Each chair measures D 47cm x W 45cm x H 74.5cm, seat height is 46cm. They are in original condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina that adds character to the pieces.
